What is the cleaning agent?

Soap! Just soap! Our soap is true soap. Most commercial brands are not. They are a mixture of synthetic ingredients which they need a cleaning agent. Here is more on that!

Does your soap have lye in it?

A good question and one that I hear a lot! The short answer is no, but it is made with lye! I know, confusing! Here is a video with the explanation.

Can I use this on oily skin?

Yes! We have several products that are especially helpful for oily skin. Here is more information.

Why does my soap feel moist when I have not used it?

We call that 'sweating' but it is not actually coming from within the soap. The natural glycerin attracts the moisture from the air and causes water droplets to form.

What base do you use?

We don't use one! All of our products are made from scratch. No melt and pour, and no base. Individual ingredients added one at a time and mixed together! Here is a video explaining why we do not use a base.

I am sensitive to Bee's Wax. Which of your products do not contain bee's wax?

Bar soaps, liquid soaps as well as Hand & Body Lotion contain no bee's wax.

Do you make a shampoo?

Yes!! Here it is and here is some information about it.

Is your soap made with lye?

Yes! All soap is! Melt and pour as well as glycerin soaps are all made with lye. No soap is soap without it. Lye creates the chemical reaction that causes the saponification process to take place.

Is the soap harsh? Grandmaâ€™s was.

No! Goat Milk soap is particularly gentle. Very soothing for sensitive skin. Here is more about Goat Milk Soap and Lotions.

Does your soap lather?

Yes! No artificial lathering agents are added or needed. Our soaps have a silky luxurious lather that works great with a cloth, hands or a body buffer.

Are your products safe for babies?

Yes! Again, the fact that we use goat milk and natural ingredients make our products great for all skin types, including babies. You may try the Unscented products if you are unsure how sensitive your baby is.

Will these products get rid of wrinkles?

No guarantees, but if you use our soap along with a moisturizer, you will have healthy, fresh, hydrated skin which will definitely look better! See more in my blog about Younger Looking Skin.

You will find this in the ingredients list for all of my moisturizers and lotions. Since I am using fresh goat milk, I need to use a preservative. I have chosen this one because it takes a very small amount (0.9%), there is NO paraben or formaldehyde and it works!

Do you really make all this?

Yes I/we do. One batch at a time, but we have grown, so I now have someone who helps make all of the products. And my husband does most all of the cooking! Go to my blog on this for more information and a video!

I have a question regarding the deodorant. I just purchased it at the Local Roots. You mentioned the color because of the clay. Will it stain my clothes?

The feedback I received is that on white shirts they noticed that there was discoloration, but it did not stain. It washed out easily. The color was not noticeable on the outside of the shirt. I have not seen any discoloration on my husbandâ€™s shirts or mine though. Maybe it depends on the person.

What method of shipping should I choose?

Of course, this is up to you but here is what I know. Priority mail is a bit more expensive and promises to TRY to deliver within 2 days. This is business days only and sometimes other factors can cause it to take longer. USPS does not guarantee 2 day delivery. First class is less expensive and generally has 2-5 day delivery. This varies according to the distance the package needs to travel.

We offer two charcoal goat milk soaps which are a great wash for oily skin! Each does their job a bit differently so you choose which one suits your routine better.

Charcoal: This is our gentle goat milk soap with activated charcoal. We add no essential oils so it is suitable for anyone who does not like a scent. It is also a good choice if you prefer to use this soap 3-4 times a week. It tends to be the more aggressive of the two in terms of absorbing oil and deep cleansing. Some find that using it daily dries the skin a little more that is helpful, therefore we recommend using our plain charcoal soap along with another goat milk soap such as Tea Tree or one of the goat milk soaps suggested in this collection.

Oats & Charcoal: Our Oats & Charcoal goat milk soap is better to use as a daily face wash. We combined oats and essential oils along with the charcoal making it less aggressive, but very effective. The oats help exfoliate while creating a smoother lather. The essential oils we chose are Tea Tree and Bergamot which are both great for helping to heal acne. Plus they smell fantastic, but gentle. This can be used twice a day.

Which ever Charcoal soap you choose, please remember the best way to help your skin is to have a routine of cleansing two times a day and using a face moisturizer at least once.

The benefits of goat milk skin care have been known for centuries. It is said that Cleopatra bathed in milk and of course it is also said that she was quite beautiful. It must have been the milk!

We have used our goat milk skin care since 2000, when I started making it. At first I never really thought about why it was so wonderful on my skin, or why I had no dry irritated spots, I just knew that I liked it and my skin is soft and clean.

Over the years, people have asked many questions about the soaps so I have learned a lot by researching for the answer if I did not know. One question I get a lot is “what are the benefits goat milk soap?”

The difference is of course, the goat milk! Well, that’s the short answer. Here are more reasons it is great, and different:

Rich in Nutrients: Goat milk contains essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B6, calcium, and potassium. These nutrients can nourish and support skin health.
